01. How many hours of coverage do we need?
02. Do I need a second photographer?
03. Who is your second photographer? Can I see their work?
04. Do you offer phone consults?
05. What happens if you have an emergency, or are sick on my wedding date?
Most couples choose 8 hours of coverage, which typically includes details and the end of getting ready of the bride, the ceremony, portraits, and about 15–30 minutes of open dancing at the reception.
If you’re traveling between locations, have a large wedding party, or just want a more relaxed pace to the day, I recommend 10 hours of coverage.
6 hours is considered partial wedding day coverage. If you are having a small wedding, with little or no wedding party, or if you don’t need either reception or getting ready coverage, this might be a good fit for you.
If you’re unsure what works best for your day, I’m happy to send a sample timeline and help you decide.
06. When should I schedule my engagement session?
07. Can we send you a list of photos and poses that we want?
08. Do you offer video?
09. What happens if the weather is bad on the day of our session or wedding?
If you and your partner are getting ready in separate spaces, a second photographer allows both of your mornings to be documented at the same time.
Beyond logistics, my second photographer solely dedicates their attention to what’s going on behind the scenes, candid reactions, alternate angles, and quiet moments happening around you. If these are important to you, I would recommend adding a second photographer!
My second photographers are all seasoned wedding photographers who have the same approach and shooting style as I do. They are carefully chosen by me, and ultimately photographers that I trust.
Because they are working for me, their work will look the same as mine and blend seamlessly into your final gallery. For this reason, I do not share my second photographer’s portfolios.
Phone calls are a great time to get to know each other and see if I would be a good fit for your day! I do not require one to book, but I do encourage them. Phone calls are scheduled between my office hours of 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday.
I do everything in my power to be able to photograph your wedding. You chose me to document such an important day, and I take that responsibility seriously. That being said, life is unpredictable and I have a back up plan. In the rare event of emergencies or illness, I would personally notify you or your day of coordinator of the situation, and arrange an associate photographer that I know and trust to handle shooting your wedding day. I would still be handling the editing and gallery delivery, so your gallery would be consistent with my style and approach.
I schedule engagement sessions on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and limited Sundays. Sunday dates book up the quickest, especially during peak season (May–October), so I recommend reaching out about four months in advance if you’re hoping for a Sunday session.
For Tuesday or Thursday sessions, reaching out 2–3 months ahead is usually perfect.
I do not work off of detailed shot lists during the wedding day. My approach is candid and documentary, capturing genuine moments as they unfold. The pace of the day moves so quickly that checking off shots can pull you out of the moment, making things feel less natural. To make sure nothing important is missed, I send a questionnaire before your wedding so that I can understand what matters most to you. You’re more than welcome to send me 3-4 poses that you really love, or a pinterest or mood board as inspiration. The only time that I do work from a list is during family portrait time, in which I’ll have you send me a list of each grouping that you want a photo of.
I do not offer video services, but I have plenty of great recommendations! I do work side-by-side with videographers on the wedding day, so I think it’s important that you look for a videographer with a similar documentary, candid approach as me.
I keep a close eye on the weather on the day of your session. I am flexible with reschedules for rain, high winds, extreme cold, and snow.
On wedding days, I work around the weather as much as possible. If you are having an all outdoor wedding, I recommend that my couples have a back up location in mind for photos ahead of time. I’m happy to discuss ideas and what would photograph best.
